Vehicle Description
1962 (RARE) ALMOND BEIGE ONE OF 821 PRODUCED (RARE) RED INTERIOR HAS BEEN SAID TO BE 1 OF ONLY 20 PRODUCED IN THIS COMBINATION, 100% BODY OFF RESTORATION, NCRS TOP FLIGHT AWARD, BLOOMINGTON GOLD CERTIFICATION IN 2004, 327-250HP, 4 SPEED, WONDERBAR RADIO, WHITE WALL TIRES. Get ready to bid on one of the finest examples of a "Straight Axle" Corvette known to exist. This car is a recently finished body-off restoration. The car won the top Bloomington and NCRS honors. It was judged Bloomington Gold and NCRS Top Flight as recently as 2004. With these two trophies in the bank, that should answer any questions on originality. This car looks like it just rolled off the assembly line yesterday. The detail is correct down to the factory overspray on the exhaust manifolds. This car is finished in Almond Beige paint. Inside the seats are covered in the correct vinyl seat covers. The carpet is the factory correct Tuxedo loop. The original T shifter is in the car. This entire interior has a correct factory appearance. The engine compartment has the correct factory components. Hose clamps, plug wires, ignition shielding, breather, radiator, fuel lines, alternator, all appear as they would from the factory. The body has the fit and finish of a sixth generation Corvette, not a first generation car. Underneath this car is detailed down to the correct factory axle straps. This low mileage Body-Off restoration looks like it was finished yesterday. Exacting detail appears to have been considered throughout this car. If you want to own one of the best 1962 Corvettes in existence bid now.
Vehicle Condition
This restoration was done with complete factory correctness in mind. The engine compartment is like new clean, free of any road grime or detail fade. The detail paint looks like it just left the GM Factory. All hoses and fuel lines are clean, fresh, and correct. The ignition shielding and breather chrome are all in like new condition. Even the exhaust manifolds appear as new with no burn. The exterior shows a top quality paint job. This paint job alone would cost $8,000.00 to $10,000.00. The bumper chrome is excellent with no imperfections. The window moldings are all in like new shape and have a great cosmetic appearance. The grill is chip and kink free. The detail is outstanding. The hood, doors, and deck lid all line up with a near perfect fit and finish. Inside the car shows like new carpet and like new vinyl seat covers. The door panel trim and fit appear as new. The console, steering wheel, and dash insert show no wear and tear. The gauges are in near perfect restored condition. The car's chassis appears detailed and fresh. The frame is rust free, and shows no evidence of patching or repair. This car is white glove clean underneath. If you are looking for the best of the best bid now. After 36 years of Corvette sales very few cars get you excited, but this is one of those select few Corvettes. |
